If you visit the Maine Camp Experience website, you’ll come across a quote. It goes as follows:
According to a study conducted by the Institute for Economics and Peace, “Maine is the most peaceful state in the US.”
I don’t think a research study is needed to prove this point. A summer here in Maine will make you a believer for life. As a native Mainer, I thought I’d share some of my favorite aspects of this great state, so you know what to look for next time you’re here.
☆ standing on a mountain, any mountain
☆ hearing only the sound of peepers as the sun goes down
☆ walking in tall, tall grass
☆ the smell of pine needles in the sun
☆ staying awake beside a campfire
☆ an early summer plunge into still-chilled waters
So now that you have a bit of insight into some of the best parts of Maine, enjoy one or two (or all of them!) next time you’re in this peaceful state.
What is your favorite peaceful aspect of Maine?
